ACOUSTIC CAFÉ

Permitted performers may be paid for their services. Performances may include: musicians, mimes, magicians or similar types of performing Artists allowed by Uptown Columbus.

Acoustic Café times are: Monday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Performance times are limited to two hours per day. Thursday through Sunday, only even hours will be permitted (6 p.m. - 8 p.m., 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., etc). Monday through Wednesday, even and odd hours can be signed out.

Acoustic Café locations are: 1st Avenue between 10th Street and 11th Street, 1st Avenue and 12th Street at the Coffee Beanery, 10th Street and Broadway (Mid Block), 11th Street and Broadway (Mid Block), 13th Street and Broadway (Mid Block) and 14th Street and Broadway (Mid Block).

The issued permit will specify the time, date and location for which it is valid, and no permit is valid except in compliance with its terms. Performers MUST provide a valid address and phone number to receive a permit.

Performer must submit a photocopy of driver's license or state ID with this application. Application must be completed 24 hours prior to date of performance.

Performers must obtain a permit from Uptown Columbus located at 1226 3rd Avenue for the appropriate time and location to perform. Each participant must sign up before noon. No walk-in performances will be allowed.

Performer must display permit while performing and Performer shall be responsible for all needed equipment, special needs, parking, set-up, etc.

Performer may accept donations from the public, but only when the Acoustic Cafe permit is obtained from Uptown Columbus and Uptown's allocated box is used.

Performer must return the donation box to Uptown within 12 hours of the performance. If the performance is over the weekend, then the donation box must be returned on the following Monday. If the donation box is NOT returned within allotted time, performer will not be booked.

Acoustic Cafe application must be renewed every 12 months. Uptown Columbus will notify participant for renewal.

The Acoustic Café program will work on a first come, first serve basis. Performers will be allowed to sign up for no more than three performances at a time and no more than one month in advance.

The use of profane, indecent, abusive or threatening language or behavior constitutes acts of harassment against the public peace and will result in denial or revocation of a permit.

Participants must be fully clothed and have shoes, shirt, and clean clothing at all times while performing in the Acoustic Cafe. The Acoustic Cafe is an Uptown Columbus program, in which staff members reserve the right to reject, cancel or deny a permit to anyone at anytime for any reason.
